A Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager is required for a permanent role with a Defence/Aerospace company based in Reading, Berkshire.

Applicants must have a UK/EU Passport

Essential:
* Engineering degree in electronics or aeronautics or telecommunications
* Experience in leading a multidiscipline team in electronics or aeronautics or telecommunications domain.
* Good interpersonal skills and willingness to travel worldwide
* Knowledge in Tactical Data Link is desirable

Targeting System (TS) is a product allowing a soldier to locate and transmit target position. The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager\'s primary responsibility is to develop the new product features against its specification within the cost, schedule and level of quality required. You lead the development team composed of system, hardware and software engineers. You interface with customers, external suppliers (for development purposes), internal Supply Chain Management department (purchasing, manufacturing), Contracts and reports to the local Program Manager(s). Scope of work for the TPM ranges from technical proposals & bids to final qualification/validation. It includes the management of the suppliers. The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager participates to the development, in term of business, of the TS product line.

The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager should have:
1/Multidiscipline (system, hardware, software) background
2/Technical leadership & Organizational skills
3/Decision making & risk management skills, financial

The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager should be able to lead a team in successfully execute a product development project. They shall demonstrate initiative when seeking solutions to problems and meeting customer timescales and expectations. The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager should be able to develop solutions with minimal instructions and direction. They should be able to understand system, hardware, software, manufacturing related issue. The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager should also be comfortable in various situation: team management, with peers, reporting to management, interfacing customer/user.

Key Accountabilities:
* Create and execute multidiscipline development plan.
* Organize the team (resources, task allocation, priority management, technical decision) to ensure achievement of the goals.
* Development shall be done within allocated & agreed budget.
