Permanent, 22 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic communicator to join our small, friendly and dynamic team based just outside the Berkshire market town of Hungerford in the heart of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

You will raise the profile of the North Wessex Downs AONB by increasing awareness of the work of the Team and wider partnership, fostering public understanding and enjoyment of the landscape, and celebrating the qualities that make it special.

You will need to be highly articulate, able to put across complex landscape issues clearly to diverse audiences and with the initiative and drive to spot and make use of communication opportunities. You will also have excellent writing skills and be comfortable writing for a range of publications including web pages, press releases, reports and magazines.

A team player, you will lead on the team’s communications strategy. Your other responsibilities will include: managing the web site; developing relations with local journalists; assisting with local events and media opportunities; producing and distributing press releases and other materials; and overseeing production of the Annual Review, bi-monthly e-bulletins and our annual guide UP! on the North Wessex Downs.

Experience in web site development and maintenance would be a distinct advantage, but training can be offered to a suitable candidate.
